A comfortable drive to rabat the capital of Morocco, rabat is home to one of my favorite places in the country, the Challah. 14th century walls and towers encircle the ruins of the Roman city, and a later Royal tomb.
The whole area is now a vast and slightly unruly garden, dotted with the domed tombs of Sufi saints and stork nests. There’s even a pool full of eels, which local people feed boiled eggs to improve their fertility (honestly!).
The Kasbah, which once ruled Salé as an independent pirate republic, is also worth visiting, as is the new Mohamed VI Museum of modern art.
Transfer to Casablanca airport for your departure, ending your journey through Morocco.
