The women I travel with all love him - he is a very warm and kind person, not to mention extremely knowledgeable about the country. He has a great sense of humor and put up with a lot of shenanigans from my rather raucous (at times) group!
Iddriss is a good driver and he also organised our private bus transportation for the rest of the stay.

Talk about going above and beyond!!! Not only did he stop and help me get medicine when I needed it, he also brought me back to a medina the next day, so that I could get a last minute purchase! And let’s not forget that he was willing to play silly car games! Can’t beat it!

Idriss did a great job listening to our interests prior to our trip so that he could make an appropriate itinerary. The riads we stayed at were top notch! One riad owner said that out of 25 guides that she experiences- Idriss is in the top 3! He was a safe and cautious driver, and was willing to answer any question that we posed. From visiting medinas to visiting nomads in caves to riding camels in the Sahara desert-it was definitely a trip of a lifetime! Travel with the "Prince of Morocco"! - Morocco has been on my bucket list for at least 15 years and when I was planning family travel to Portugal and southern Spain for September 2023, I was determined... read more to go - even if I had to join a tour and go by "myself"! I spent the last 10 days of my trip in Morocco with Iddriss and a friend who met me in Marrakech and it was absolutely a highlight of my travels.

I've honestly never traveled with a private guide before and was blown away by the experience. I'm the type of person who loves research and creating experiences but a trip for two women in their 50's traveling to Morocco felt a bit more daunting. Iddriss (and Morocco Land Tours) was recommended by an acquaintance who had traveled with him twice before. Her personal experience with Iddriss was the deciding factor in choosing Morocco Land Tours/Iddriss as our guide.

Prior to travel, I worked with Iddriss via email to curate a rich, personalized itinerary that hit everything on my wishlist within a 10-day timeline (I wish I had longer!). When the earthquake hit Morocco a few weeks before we traveled, Iddriss reassured me that all was well and that although small parts of Morocco were severely damaged, the entire country was not. Tourism is an important part of Morocco's economy and the loss of travelers to the country after the earthquake has been difficult for those who are still recovering from the loss of tourism due to Covid.

Iddriss is an amazing guide. He is warm, funny, personable, and has a deep love and knowledge of his country. He has a university education, speaks at least 4 languages, and is well-read (we enjoyed sharing book recommendations and have a favorite book in common). We spent hours driving to and from the desert and shared many stories, jokes and laughs. He could answer ANY question we asked him about what we were seeing. He told us stories of his childhood and we even stopped to meet his mother, sisters, and niece and nephews as we traveled. We stopped daily for "nous-nous" (small lattes), which we loved. He knew people everywhere we went...shaking hands and saying hello. I called him the Mayor of Morocco and he told me he would rather be the "Prince of Morocco" instead!

Iddriss is not "just a driver" taking you from point A to point B. His many connections bring immense value to your travel. (We had a small problem with our riad in Fez and within 30 minutes Iddriss quickly made a few calls and arranged a beautiful new stay for us!)

He arranged all of our Riads - each unique and beautiful - and private guides in Marrakech and Fez. Our time in Fez with Farida was another highlight. We spent a full day with both Iddriss (as our driver) and Farida (as our guide) and then hired Farida for a second "free" afternoon the following day. We spent the day as sisters or friends would...shopping and sharing lunch and were then invited to Farida's home for tea where we met her two adorable teen sons who both spoke excellent English and were so fun to visit with.

The Moroccans we met as guides, staff, and shop owners and staff were so gracious, kind, and loving. Another highlight was learning more about the Muslim faith as many people we met were devout in their religion. So many people we met were kind in teaching us a few words in Arabic and helping us understand their customs and learn about their beautiful country and culture.

If you are considering a trip to Morocco, I HIGHLY recommend Morocco Land Tours and Iddriss as your guide. Hiring a private guide in Morocco is only a bit more expensive than traveling with a larger tour and offers all of the flexibility of stopping when you want (to get that perfect shot or take a break), the experience of building a relationship with your guide and not being packed into a bus or large van. In short, your experience will be PERSONALIZED to your interests but you won't have to do the heavy lifting of planning and arranging travel.

Iddriss deserves a MILLION stars! Thank you so much for a fantastic #bucketlist trip! I'm already dreaming of a second trip to Morocco and the opportunity to travel with Iddriss again!

Idris planned and led the best trip - Idris was our guide for 9 days. We went to E eastern part of Morocco. He was great. He showed us not typical tourist spots so we weren't in crowds... read more too much. We were with 1 year old baby and he was so kind to him. Also the trip he planned was with consideration of the baby, so we weren't doing nothing dangerous etc.
Next time we'll be going to Morocco it will be with Idris for sure.
